Hey Coastal,
We take the safety of our congregants and community very seriously. As you are probably aware, COVID-19 cases in Galveston County have seen a rapid spike in recent weeks. We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments to our ministry as more information and further guidance is released. As part of that evaluative process, we are making the following changes… - In compliance with the City of Galveston’s recent order, we are strongly encouraging attendees to wear a mask in public settings where six feet of distance cannot be maintained. We hope you will keep this in mind if you decide to join us for worship in-person this Sunday. Disposable masks will be made available for anyone who does not have a mask of their own.
- The reopening of the Cove (birth – kindergarten) originally scheduled for this Sunday (6/28) has been postponed. We are eager to relaunch this important ministry, but we must balance that desire with the need to properly implement safety procedures.
- Our Summer Camps for kids and teenagers have been cancelled. We are saddened by this decision, but believe it is wise to pursue alternative ministry approaches this summer. We remain deeply committed to “stacking the deck” for the next generation and will look for creative ways to serve the families of Coastal. Our age-level staff will be contacting campers regarding refunds.
On a personal note, I want to ask that you be in prayer for me and our church’s leadership. We need God’s wisdom and perspective to navigate the uncharted waters of 2020 and beyond. Some of you will undoubtedly feel we are being too cautious while others may feel we aren’t being cautious enough. Everyone seems to have strong opinions and while we cannot promise to always make the “right decision,” we can promise to seek the Lord and do our best. I appreciate your patience and understanding.
See you Sunday, |
