Coastal Kids

Helping kids and families know and follow Jesus.

The Cove
(Birth - Kindergarten)

The Cove is offered during the 9:30 and 11:00 am worship services.

Our preschool classes provide a fun, engaging environment where children grow in their faith through play, worship, and age-appropriate Bible stories. Each week, kids enjoy hands-on crafts, interactive games, and meaningful activities that help bring God's Word to life while building friendships and a love for Jesus.

First, kids participate in a Large Group which consists of a Bible story, games and worship. Small Groups are grade-based and give kids a chance to open the Bible each week, play games, do crafts and other activities that reinforce the Bible story.

Keeping Our Kids Safe

CHECK IN

Coastal Kids check-in opens 15 minutes before services begin. Check-In is the place for new families to register and for regular attenders to pick up weekly tags. Children wear a tag with their name and parents' phone number and parents receive a tag with their children’s unique check-in code. Please notify a Check-In team member and your child’s teacher if your child has any allergies we should know about. Our Check-In team is always available to answer any questions you might have.

DROP OFF

Parents can meet Coastal Kids volunteers at the doorway of each classroom to drop off their children. Please ensure your mobile phone is set to vibrate when attending the main service so that the Coastal Kids team can contact you should the need arise.

DISMISSAL

Please pick up your children personally and promptly after the service with your matching parent tag. For the safety of all Coastal Kids, please show the tag to the teacher at the entrance of their classroom. Only parents or guardians with a matching parent tag will be allowed to check-out children.

SAFETY

Coastal Kids is led by caring adult and teen volunteers who have been trained and background-checked by the Children's Ministry staff. You'll never have to worry about your kids' safety and, after a few visits, they'll be begging to attend church on Sundays.

If We Need You...

Should the need arise for your assistance with your child during the service, a Coastal Kids volunteer will first attempt to reach you via text message. If we don’t receive a reply within a few minutes, the unique number on your parent name tag will display on the screen in the worship room. A Coastal Kids volunteer will meet you at the Coastal Kids Check-In area to discuss your child’s needs.

How Do I Volunteer?
We always need great volunteers to join our team. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Joanie Landron at jlandron@discovercoastal.org. All volunteers are background checked and complete a sexual abuse awareness training before volunteering to ensure the safety of all our Coastal Kids.

To begin the process, please submit the volunteer application.
